When the three main activities in asset management (custody, trading and management) are under the same roof, conflicts of interest will inevitably emerge. In order to avoid this damage to its clients, IAM concentrate on only one of these activities: asset management. Other tasks are entrusted to external entities either according to the client's wishes or to competitors.
