THE QUOTE
“During our training camp in Mallorca, we took the opportunity to reconnoiter some of the stages, and I can assure you that there will be some surprises,” Eddy Seigneur announced. “We were training in weather conditions that will be similar to those we will face during the races, and that allowed us to learn what some of the difficulties will be, and so in this case we are certainly well prepared. Consequently, I hope our goal of winning at least one stage will be within reach.”

THE LOCAL

Vicente Reynes. A rare native Mallorcan pro in the peloton, the Spanish IAM Cycling rider will be keen to race over home roads this week. “The race borrows from many of my training roads,” Reynes said. “So of course I know the parcours extremely well, and I am very motived to win a race on my island. This test is twofold for us racers. It is not only the first indicator on our state of form, but if we manage to get a bouquet in Mallorca, it gives us a huge boost of confidence to start the season. Nobody refuses a victory.”
