Serge Beucherie, IAM Cycling team manager sets the tone when explaining the composition of the riders the team will bring to battle on the roads of the Tour of Switzerland (June 8-16).

Having been honored with an invitation by the organizers of the Tour of Switzerland, which is a World Tour event, the team founded by Michel Thétaz, CEO of IAM SA (IAM Investment Funds), will set out to animate the event and make the greatest impact possible, which has been the team’s goal in all races since the beginning of the season.

The team manager, in agreement with the rest of the team’s sport management, has selected a group of riders which includes no fewer than five Swiss professionals for this premier event in June.

“On paper, we have a very strong team that can set goals not only to win stages, but also to be realistic contenders for the general classification.  This does not mean we have underestimated the events like the Garmin Pro Race of Berlin and the Tour of Luxembourg, whose dates coincide with the Tour of Switzerland on the racing calendar.  But this is our national tour, and as a major objective on our calendar, we have to bring our best team possible.”

With riders like Heinrich Haussler, who recently won the final stage of the Bayern-Rundfahrt after having gone nearly two years without a victory, as well as Stefan Denifl who won the best climber’s jersey in Bavaria, Martin Elmiger, Reto Hollenstein and Sébastien Reichenbach, IAM Cycling will have multiple cards to play when looking for stage victories.

They will have excellent guidance with the duo of Marcello Albasini and Kjell Carlström heading the squad. And for their part, riders of the caliber offered by Thomas Löfkvist, Johann Tschopp and Marcel Wyss, can count on their chances to stay in contact with the best for an excellent overall place.
