The natural elements are staring down the efforts of the organizers of the Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne race this Sunday.

Like all other teams engaged in the hills and cobbles Belgian Flanders classic race, IAM Cycling is found technically unemployed after the cancellation of the event.

Indeed, snow fell overnight, wind and freezing cold (-2 °) made the conditions too dangerous to send riders to the front.

IAM Cycling Sports Director Eddy Seigneur has confessed being satisfied with this decision.

“There was really a significant risk to ride on such roads today. Team managers of the four first team cars in the race column took this decision with the organizers. Given the pain experienced by our two riders who fell on Het Nieuwsblad yesterday, it’s not a bad thing.”

Indeed as Kristof Goddaert and Sébastien Hinault, the two major unlucky team members yesterday, experienced a difficult wake-up this morning.
