IAM Cycling
In addition to the three existing national champions Larsson (time trial) as well as Saramotins and Pliuschin (both road), Matthias Brändle has claimed the teams first national championship while wearing the IAM Cycling colors.
Thursday night Michel Thétaz, CEO of IAM SA (IAM Investment Funds) and founder of IAM Cycling, took great joy in announcing Matthias Brändles victory at the Austrian time trial championships, which took place at Lambach.
Winner of the points jersey and most aggressive rider at the Tour of Romandie, a World Tour race, and also the instigator of the winning breakaway at the Tour of Bern, the 23 year old Austrian seems to be in the form of his life, even if he now welcomes a well-deserved break.
It was not easy, but I was able to win by 8 seconds. Over the parcours which covered 22.5 kilometers through the Grünbachtal, I averaged 48.8 kilometers per hour. This is my second national title, after I was also able to win the 2009 Austrian national time trial. I have left everything out on the road; now Ill take five days of complete rest before preparing for my return to the peloton at the Tour of Luxembourg.
