“Today the peloton was going full gas from the start again.

There were also some small climbs in the beginning that made it difficult for all the riders.

The peloton split into several pieces, but when a 9 man strong group got away, the other groups could slowly get together. We didn’t have anybody in the front group, but we also knew that the break wouldn’t probably last until the finish. Team Sky was working on the front for Chris Froome, but when the peloton approached the climbs, Saxo Bank-Tinkoff took control and set a fast pace up the climbs.

The peloton split into many pieces, but Johann Tschopp was in the first group, with Martin Elmiger and Reto Hollenstein in the second. On the last climb Alberto Contador, Chris Froome and Joaquim Rodriguez attacked and they stayed away until the finish with Froome taking the win before Contador. Johann made it in the following small group just some seconds behind and he could snatch two places in the GC today! That was a good result for him at the moment and we’re also glad for the 3 guys showing good form in the bigger group just a little bit further adrift.

Tomorrow will be the last stage and we will be looking to bring Johann to the finish with the current standings and maybe go for the sprint with either Marco Bandiera, Kristof Goddaert or Sébastien Hinault.”
