IAM Cycling
Johann Tschopp has been endorsed as the sole leader of the IAM Cycling team for the upcoming Tour of Romandie (23-28 April).
In the aftermath of the races this past weekend (Tour du Finistère, Tro-Bro Léon, Amstel Gold Race), Team Manager Serge Beucherie, in agreement with the squads sports directors, has announced the 8 riders who will show off the IAM Cyclilng colors at the important Swiss race.
Having been invited to the tour of Switzerlands French region, which is also a World Tour event, the Swiss Pro Continental team founded by Michel Thétaz (CEO of IAM Investment Funds) will be extremely motivated to animate the race and show their own qualities in front of a home crowd.
In spite of the fact they have lost Thomas Löfkvist to injury, IAM Cycling will have several cards to play in their attempt to figure prominently in the overall classification as well as the race for stage wins.
Serge Beucherie laid it on the line:
We are certainly not going in as the favorites. With all the World Tour teams there, the competition will be fierce. But we will be able to make a strong argument for ourselves on our favorite terrain. Our goals will be the same as they have been all season, and we will be very active within the peloton.”
